What is Mushroom blends?

In plain words

Mushroom blends combine powders or extracts from several kinds of mushrooms. The body digests some components, while others reach the gut, where microbes can break them down. Researchers study mushrooms and their compounds for possible effects on immune function, memory, and energy. Evidence for specific blends is limited, and findings about one mushroom do not necessarily apply to a mixture.

Technical definition

Mushroom blends are multi-ingredient preparations of fungal fruiting bodies, mycelium, or their extracts, containing variable mixtures of polysaccharides such as beta-glucans and other species-dependent compounds. They have no single molecular target or established mechanism; some fungal beta-glucans interact with innate immune receptors such as dectin-1, but this does not establish the effects of a finished blend. In the United States, products marketed as dietary supplements are not FDA-approved for safety or effectiveness before sale.
